What We Believe

Our beliefs are grounded in the Word of God and guide everything we do at Pathway Church.

Our Doctrine

Our Beliefs

About Scripture

The Bible, containing the Old and New Testaments, is alone the only infallible Word of God, and its authority is ultimate, final and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction, and reproof. It contains all that is needed for guidance in godliness and practical Christian conduct.

The Trinity

God is Triune, manifesting Himself as Three-in-One: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Co-equal and co-eternal, each member of the Godhead fulfills a unique role. God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Jesus Christ, eternally God, became incarnate for our redemption. The Holy Spirit empowers the saints, cleanses from sin nature, and conforms believers to Christ’s image through subsequent baptism.

The Atonement

Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross paid sin’s penalty for all humanity, with benefits applicable to personal believers. Healing and God’s provisions are provided through the atonement but require faith appropriation.

Salvation

Salvation is a free gift of God, based on the merits of the death of His Son, and is appropriated by faith. It involves repentance, belief, and personal acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior, resulting in adoption and inheritance in God’s kingdom.

The Church

The church’s objective involves making disciples globally and presenting saints complete in Christ. Leadership structure includes five-fold ministries, Local Council of Elders, deacons, and apostolic oversight balanced with pastoral leadership.

Baptism

Baptism is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life and represents identification with Jesus and belonging to Him. We baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That is, the name of Jesus.

Communion

Communion, or The Lord’s Supper, is a commemoration of the death of the Lord performed in remembrance until Christ’s return. It signifies participation in Christ and is observed by believers.

Eschatology

We affirm Christ’s bodily, personal second coming, the saints’ resurrection, final judgment, and Jesus’s eternal reign on Earth.
